“I WILL BE SUPPORTING GHANA AT AFCON”, YVONNE AYEW CLARIFIES

Wife of Andre Ayew,Yvonne Ayew has made a statement choosing the team she would be supporting during the AFCON,

despite her nationality.

The Ivorian wife of the Blacks Stars Captain Yvonne has been married to Andre for some years now, and blessed with two

children – Maha and Inaya.

Fortunately, the 2023 AFCON will hosted in Ivory Coast, the country of Yvonne Ayew. As a citizen of a country, you are to\ support

your country.

But Yvonne changed that concept, despite being a citizen of Ivory Coast, she made a statement choosing  between her country and that of her husband.

Yvonne was asked by Canal Plus: "Being Ivorian, it's a question you probably get often. Who do you support this year?” She responded by backing Ghana.

“This year, I support André. He's in the Ghanaian team. But, if Ivory Coast wins, I'll also be very, very, very happy,” she replied, as quoted by Ghanaweb.

With the Ivory Coast and Ghana placed in Groups A and B, respectively, there’s a chance that both teams to face each other in the round of 16, should they make

it out of their individual groups.

The Black Stars Must Win agenda of Ghanaians for the AFCON still stands and the players are willing to give their all to bring the Trophy home to end Ghana's four-decade

trophy drought which stretches back to 1982.
